Renovation Dispute Involving Elderly Toronto Homeowner — Ken Wise & Associates Seeking Other Affected Individuals

Ken Wise & Associates has commenced a Small Claims Court action on behalf of an elderly and vulnerable Toronto homeowner arising from a renovation project. The defendants named in the court proceeding include Roberto Altamare and an individual known as Chris Irish Maughan.

Through our investigation, we have identified information suggesting that Roberto Altamare and associated individuals may have been involved in similar renovation-related disputes with other homeowners in Ontario. We are publishing this information to help anyone who may have had a similar experience come forward.

Roberto Altamare — Associated Business Names

Roberto Altamare is a named defendant in our court action. Ontario Business Registry records, which are publicly available, show the following business registration associated with his name:

• RDS Contracting — a sole proprietorship registered at 3170 Erin Mills Parkway, Suite 404, Mississauga, Ontario. This business name appears in two registrations, dated May 16, 2024 and June 5, 2024, under the names "Robert Altomare" and "Roberto Altomare" respectively.

Chris Irish Maughan — Associated Business Names

Chris Irish Maughan is also a named defendant in our court action. Our investigation has identified the following Ontario Business Registry records that we believe may be connected to this individual:

• RJS Roofing and Masonry — a sole proprietorship registered May 23, 2025 at 2100 Ellesmere Road, Scarborough, Ontario, under the name "John Adams"

• Pinnacle Roofing & Masonry — a sole proprietorship registered May 22, 2025 at 94 Kenhar Drive, North York, Ontario, under the name "John Bailey"

We believe there may be other homeowners — particularly elderly or vulnerable individuals — who have had similar experiences with renovation contractors operating under these names or business names. We are publishing this information in the public interest to help those individuals identify their legal options.
